CHRISTCHTJRCH, December 15. " At the. Addingtpn live stock-market to-day, there were good entries or stock ih all departments and a fairly largo attendance. Beef was rather easier than last week; .store sheep showed a change m values - ; \;and fat lambs were firmer. Fat wethers were easier and fat ewes were down from. 2s to 2s 6d per head. Store and dairy cattle sold well. ; ' ■ Store Sheep.—The yarding of store sheep was about tho same as last week hi point of numbers, arid was made up chiefly of shorn wethers, the balance being shorn and unshorn ewes and lambs, and two-tooth ewes. . Forward wethers showed no change m values, and there was also a good enquiry for medium sorts, but inferior^Wlfre duller^ ,of sale. Very forward veetairs macfe 12s 9d to 15s 6d, forward lisped to 12s 6d, medium two-tooths 10s 6d $o lls, small,,andi inferior 8s 7d to 9s 6cL Mixed sorts of forward two-tooths spld up ,to lls 9d. There was a fair enquiry for two-tooth ;ewes, and those on offer; sold at 13s to 18s 9d, whilst one or two lots were withdrawn at slightly higher figures. Aged shorn ewes, with lambs, made 8s Bd, ewes m the wool with lambs 9s 7d, and four-tooth ewes m wool to lls 9d. Fat Lambs.—There were ;2200 fat lambs penned, the largest entry this season, and the quality being irregular. There was no business done for export, the local trade absorbing the entry. A few ex£ra good lots made 18s 9d to 15s, good average quality lls 9'd to 13s 4d, and light and unfinished 9s to lls:< Prices, on the whole^ for finished lambs, were 6d to 9d.per head better than those ruling last week. The but-] chers bought heavily m anticipation of higher prices next week, and for the Christmas trade. ; Fat Sheep.—There was, a fairly large yarding of fat sheep},ewes and wethers being m almost equal numbers. Wethers, though easier, maintained their values fairly woJ!. but there was a decided fall m ewes, m some cases,, fully is C;l -er head, and towards the,end-, of the sale they wore very difficult to; dispose of even at low prices. The range' of prices was: Prime wethers 13s 6d to 16s, lighter lls to 13s, prime ewes lls 6d to 14s 6d, medium 9s to lls, others 6s to 8s lOd, and merino wethers 8s lid to Us 3d. Fat Cattle.—The supply of'beef-com-prised 80 head, ■ including a lot of very prime quality. For. primp.:handy weight steers and heifers there was-a. good demand, but heavier weights were- .dull of sale, and prices were easier by ,6d per 1001 b. Steers made £2 2s 6d to £8 2s 6d, heifers £5 to £7 17s 6d, extra to £9 ss, and cows £5 17s 9d to £7 10s; equal to 20s 6d to 22s 6d for prime, 17s 6d to 203 for medium, and 17s for cow and inferior beef per lOOlbs. Stor§ Cattle.—There was a small yarding of store cattle, but what was offered was m good demand at improved prices. Calves made 15s to 18s, 15 to 18 months 39s to £2 15s, two-year steers £3 13s to £3 19s, and dry cows 34s to £4 13s. A line of aged cows made £5. Dairy cows sold at £3 10s to £8 7s 6d and extra up to £9 17s. Pigs.—There was a fair entry of pigs, and a very dull sale at last week's prices. Choppers sold at 535, heavy baconers 42s to 48s, and lighter 35s 6d to 40s, equal to 3£d. to 3£d per <lb; large porkers 36s to 38s and lighter 24s to 28s, equal to 4£d to 4£d per 1b; large stores 24s to 28s, smaller „16s to 20s. small weaners 9s andjl2s'6diand' larger 15s to 18s 6d.
