BURNSIDE STOCK MARKET.
DTJNEDIN,December 15. Fat Cattle.—246 head were yarded, consisting principally of average quality. The sale was dull and, prices were a shade easier than those ruling last week. Best bullocks made from £10 to £11 os, medium £7 10s to £8 10s, best heifers and cows to £7 and medium £5. Fat Sheep.—2762 were penned, principally shorn, with a good proportion of ewes. Prices for prime quality were about equal to last week's rates, but unfinished sorts and ewes showed a decline of about Is per head. Best shorn wethers brought from 14s 6d to 16s, medium 12s to 13s, best, shorn ewes 11s 6d to 12s 6d, average quality 10s, best woolled wethers 20s to 21s and ewes 15s to 17s 6d. . Lambs.—Boo were penned. The sale opened dull, but owing to the small! yarding there was a sharp rise before j the close. Best made from 14s to 15s, medium 10s to 11s and inferior from 7s. Pigs.—l6s were yarded. There were a largo number of young pigs, but the class was not too good, and consequently, prices were low. Porkers and baconers were- m good numbers and prices were a shade firmer. Suckers made from 10s to 13s, slips 15s to 18s, stores 20s to 235, porkers 33s to 38s, light baconers 40s to 44s and heavy baconers 45s to 50s.
