BREACH OF THE TAILORS' AWARD.

Per Press Association,

NAPIER, December 14

An important decision affecting the tailors' award was given by the Magistrate, Mr McCarthy, to-day, in a case in which E. H. Ricketts, draper, was charged with a breach of the award in dealing with bespoke work. The defendant took an order by chart for a suit to be made up in Wellington, but the Magistrate held that, as the fact of the suit being factory-made had not been brought under the elastomer's notice, a breach of the award must be recorded. A fine of £5 was imposed.
