CHRISTCHURCH, December 13. A meeting of the Crown tenants in Cheviot,'on Saturday night, carried a resolution'in favour of the optional system of tenure. The resolution proposed was debated at considerable length, and at the conclusion of the debate a division was taken, 32 declaring for the freehold and 19 for the leasehold. The meeting was very orderly and good humoured/" and the result of the vote was received with cheers.
