TINWALD YARDS.
TUESDAY, JUNE 22. There was a fair attendance at the weekly stock sale held at the Tinwald ooon \% f, n an Qntl'y> consisting of j 2920 fat sheep and lambs, 1185 store I sheep and lambs, and about 18 head of cattle, was offered. , . SHEEP. . Fat Pens.—lf anything, stock in prime condition sold slightly better j than at recent sales, but the rise did I'not apply to unfinished stock. Compejtition was fairly keen and very few lines were passed in unsold. Ewes: 785 mixed classes of ewes were offered, and I with the exception of 40 the whole of the entry changed hands, the top price being 10s 7d. Sales were: - V Seventeen halfbreds at 7s 3d, 19 half and three-quarterbreds 9s Bd, 54 do 9s 1d,,20 do 9s, 39 do Bs-lid, 15 do 9s, 39. do 8s lid, 15 do 4s 3d, 40 threequarterbreds 10s, 105 half and threequarterbreds 10s 2d, 10s 3d and 10s sd, 83 three-quarterbreds 10s 3d, 98 halfbreds. 9s sd, 38 half and threc-quarter-breds 10s Id, 39 halfbreds, 8s Id, 31 do 7s lid, 17 do 8s 3d, 17 do.Bs Id. 17 do 10s 7d, 12 three-quarterbreds 9s, 9 halfbreds 8s 3d, 62 half and threequarterbreds 8s lid. Lambs.—lß49 were offered, and export buyers operated freely. Prices were: 38 at 9s 9d, 63 at 10s 9d, 19 at 12s 2d, 86 at 13s Bd, 2 at 14s, 87 at lls 6d, 10 at 14s Id, 53 at 9s 9d, 21 at 12s lOd, 20 at 12s 9d, 60 at 13s 4d, 78 at 10s 3d, 70 at 12s 6d, 215 at 13s 4d, 124 at lls 2d, 356 at 13s 3d, 203 at. 10s Bd, 117 at 13s 10d, 94 at 14s, 109 at lls 7d. Wethers.—44 crossbreds s;t ]3s 4d, 4 half-brods • los 2d, 28 do 13s 9d, 18 Down cross 14s 7d, 17 2-tooth halfbreds 12s TOd, 2 crossbreds 14s 4d, 29 half and three-quarterbreds 14s 3d, '5 twotooth halfbreds 10s Id, 38 half and three-qtiarterbreds 14s 2d, 71 2-tooth three-quarterbred 12s 4d. Two hundred and eighty-six were penned. Store Pens.—Of 1185 store sheep and hoggets offered, 1086 changed hands at prices on a par with late rates. Sales were: Fifty-one 2-tooth halfbred wethers 9s Id, 144 three-quarterbred wether hoggets 9s, 281 do 8s 9d, 367 halfbred wether hoggets 7s 7d, 250 threequarterbred hoggets (mixed sexes) 9s Bd. . CATTLE. The yarding of cattle was confined chiefly to the fat pens, and the sale was much brighter than has been the case for some time back, at increased prices. The following are sales: Fats.—One heifer £6, 1 steer (small) £4 1 do £6 15s, 1 cow £4-. ss. 1 heifer £4 12s 6d, 3 steers £5 12s 6d each, 2 steers £6 5s each, 1 steer (small) £3. Store Pens.—One steer £2 15s, 1 heifer £4 10s.
