MR TAYLOR AND MR FRIEDLANDER.
I Mr T. E. Taylor signalised hfs return to the dominion and to the Lyttelton Harbour Board by changing his seat on that body. Previous to his depari tyre for Australia he had occupied a | seat at the foot of the table, m the j midst of several canal members. Yesi terday morning Sir Taylor was seated next to Mr A. Friedlander, the chajrmafl, took jt from his hands and suggested that jt was unnecessary to read it, Mr Taylor Jater asked that the letter should be read, and" m doing so he said: " The chairman ioofe if, out of the secretary's hands most rudely, I thought. He snatched it from him." The chairman remained silent while several members spoke, and then he frjrned to Mr Taylor and said to him ; .'/1 _did not snatch it from his hands. You' ar^ no.fc f.he one to judge what is rude and'what i,s not," Mr Taylor: It was rude. 'Yobtreated the secretary just as you try to treat some of the members of the JBoard. Mr Friedlander: You cannot judge whether I was rude. It is nothing to you how I act. Mr Taylor : I think it is. I will watch you. Mr G. W. Russell : I think I should iuyite Mr Taylor to return to this end of'the iable, which is a calm andl quiet • little lbcafyty.
