The weather was fine for the match Victoria versus South Australia. Armstrong and Tarrant, for the home team, did some tremendous hitting, and their partnership produced 221 runs. Victoria's first innings realised 699, and ended just on time being called. Armstrong made 231, Tarrant 105, Macalister 24, Hazlitt 21, Carkeek 22, Carroll 29. ,
