Tho local men made a poor stand against tho bowling of Braund and Biytlie, who bowled throughout the innings, and were aU out before lunch for 78. Jones and Hutohings scored freely in the Englishmen's first innings, the latter's score including three sixes. Maclaren was in fine bowling form, accounting for four -wickets. Seven, wickets were down for 251 when stumpswere drawn, for the day.
