DAMAGE ESTIMATED AT £40,000.

Received December 2, 10.3 a.m. ( BRISBANE, December 2. For the third time in a decade the business portion of the Longreach has been swept by fire. The fir.c broke out in a paint shop, and spread with great rapidity. A large quantity of explosives in one store, together with an acetylene generator, exploded, shattering the windows in the vicinity. The Imperial Hotel, which was one of th© finest country hotels in Queensland, and cost £10,000, was among the places destroyed. The damage is estimated at £40,000.
