TAILORS' AWARD.
To the Editor. ' Sir Owing to an advertisement which appeared in your columns to-day as to the formation of a Tailors and Tailoresses Union, a considerable amount of discussion has ensued, and I as a journeyman tailor, am somewhat exercised over the construction of the award of the Arbitration Court in the Christchurch tailoring trade to remain in lorce until the first of May, 1905, which I now understand is in force. L am informed by an employer that any person who receives or takes an order for a suit of clothes or dress, whether measurement be taken, either personally or by chart, must declare the same as tailor-made, and that the work must be performed on the premises or tne person for whom the order was taken. Anyone who knows will confer a favom by explaining this to gTJFFERER< August 8.
