HORSE FAIR.
Messrs Fricdlander Bros., Ltd., conducted a horse fair at their West street mart to-day, wnen a total entry of about 65 mixed classes of horses was submitted. The entry consisted chiefly of draughts, from aged to medium, and good quality, but a few good serviceable "harness horses were also offered. There was a fairly large .attendance of farmers, dealers and others, but bidding could not be called brisk, but. it was keen, for several young horses, harness and draught, of exceptionally good quality. The following; prices were obtained : Draughts—Two-year-old unbroken colt, £14; bay mare, 5 <years, £35; brown gelding, 4 3'ears, £37: bay gelding, 6 years, £44; bay gelding, aired, £22; bay gelding. 6 years, £36; bay gelding. 5 years, £37; bay geldings, £9 and £23; bay gelding, 3 years, £38 10s; black trelding, 7 vnars. £34; black gelding, 5 years, j £23: black mare. 6 years,' £38; bay ' geldings, £32 and £18. ' j Hacks—Bay mare, 5 years, £20; iniiiroVon 2-year-old, £7; hacks, £14 and £20 A number of horses were sold privately during and after the fair.
