CLEARING SALE
Mr H. Stephenson conducted a clearing sale at the Hinds saleyards yesterday, on account of Mr F. Holmes. There was a fair attendance of buyers and others, and a clearance of the entry was made at the following prices: ■ • Cattle. —Young store steers, £1 2s to £1 17s 6d; calves, 6s to 16s; heifers, £2 7s 6d. £2 17s 6d to £3 18s 6d; springers, £3 19s. Horses. —Hacks (aged sorts), £3 5s to £5 ss; bay filly by St. Ives, 4 years, £15 10s; old marc and foal, £4 2s 6d; trap mare, £8 ss. Draughts—Unbroken gelding, 3 years, £29. Unbroken hacks—Bay fillies, £3 and £7; do geldings, £3 to £8 ss. Implements.—Mower, £8 10s; drill, £15. Sundries. —Gig harness, £2, £2 15s 6d. A host of sundries, including tools, etc.. were disposed of at full market value.
