Received Nov. 21, 6.58 a.m, Pronounced Insane. Capetown, Nov 20 Stephanas Smit, the late President Kruger'e grandson, found guilty of the murder of Hermann Davis—as telegraphed on July 16th—while co-operating with him in unearthing an alleged sixty thousand pounds worth of buried treasure, has been pronounced insane, and ordered to be confined during the Governor's pleasure.
Murderous Greek Bands. Constant inoplb, Nov 20 Greek bands have been committing terrible oxoesses in Macedonia. They killed nineteen and wounded five villagers at Caradja; and by throwing dynamite cartridges into the houses, several villagers were burned to death.
Eeceived Nov. 21, 8.22 a.m. Attempted Murder. - Berlin, Nov 20 Frank Crumlish, a sailor, described as an Australian, has been remanded to London for attempted murder. He had visited a sweetheart, and used a revolver against her and his rival, and also against a third man, who had gone to their assistance. A Refloated Liner. Ottawa, N©v 20 The liner Bavarian, stranded near Quebec in 1905, has been refloated. The underwriters pay the salvor 33$ per cent' on the value of the hull, which is valued at £130,000.
(l A Story of the Sea." Paris, Nov 20 Some Frenoh Gahermen, while 'raising a drag-net in Ergny Bay, found a leash of fifteen hundred huge octupuses. Their projecting arms fastened to the sides of the vessel and the hatches; and cutting the cable and the loss of the net alone prevented the boat from capsizing. Contact with the tentaoles poisoned two of the sailors.

Received ISov. 21, 10.35 a.m. A Record in Murders, New York, Nov. 20 Judge Cavanagh, of Chicago, states that there were 45,600 (?) murders in the United States during the last quinquennial period, and that they were dae to defeotive laws.
