The Bible in Schools.
SPEECH BY DR GIBB.
United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph. DUNEDIN, NOV 10 Speaking on the Bible m schools question at the Presbyterian Assembly, Dr Gibb said that if they were beaten m this great campaign, a deal of blame mast be laid at the door of their Church, It seemed to him the Church supported this movement only m the matter of passing resolutions onoe a year, but when it came to real work' the Church was not m earnest. It might be ! said it was injudicious to talk this way, but let them have done with oant, and face 1 facts. Members of Parliament knew quite well what the position was, and had deoided to do nothing m the matter. Surely it could not be that the Church of Christ was going to let this thing go by default, and submit to a pagan form of edaoation. The real solution was either that the Bible must go baok to the schools, and teachers must teach it, or the State muit afford ministers a real opportunity of going into the schools and teaching the children the Word of God.
