The Voucher Enquiry.
United Press Association-rßy Electric Telegraph Wellington, Oct. 18 The following are the matters to be investigated by the Audit Enquiry Commission :-—(1) Whether a vouoher for payment of an amount by oheque on the public account signed by the Payee could disappear without any record of its existence or payment being left in the departmental books on record ; (2) Whether in the years 1903-4 a voucher was issued in favour of Captain Sreddon for the payment to him at Chrisfcchurch out of the public account, q£ a sum between J270 and .£BO or any other sum for reorganisation stores or for any other service ; (3) Did Captain Seddon ever claim or receive any such payment or sign any such voucher ? Full powers are given to the Commissioners as to calling witnesses, ordering the production of departmental boobs and vouchers relating to the subject matter of the inquiry. Power is given for interested persons to appear or to be represented before the Commission. The Commission is urged to use all diligence and to report not later than the 30th Ootober, 1905, or such extended date as may hereafter be named.
