The weekly official review of progress in regard to the N.Z. International Exhibition issued to-night states that at a meeting of the special sab-committee it was decided to recommend to the Entertainment Committee the abandonment of the original ode to be rendered at the opening ceremony,, and to substitute some suitable standard work, and it was also recommended that some original work commemorative of the occasion should be produced during the progress of the exhibition. Tbe United States of America, who have already taken a keen interest in the exhibition, will be well represented, especially in regard to farming implements, agricultural and other maohinery, manufactures of all descriptions, and latest inventions in American novelties. The Westporfc'Coal Co. have taken up a large area of space for the purpose of bringing the coal under the notice of foreign nations. The company will also exhibit a model of the Westporfc Harbour, showing the facilities for loading coal. Good progress has been made duriDg the week in preparing the grounds fronting the exhibition and the river. It is suggested the foundation stoce should be laid daring November next.
