(Before Mr R. Alcorn, J.P.) ALLEGED FALSE PRETENCES.

Arthur Clifford was charged with having on September Ist at Oarnaru obtained the sum of £2 from Patrick Kelly by means of false pretences. " Sergeant Fouhy asked for a remand to Oamaru, as he understood there was a likelihood of another charge being preferred against the accused there. The remand was granted, the accused to appear, at the Court at Oamaru on Sept. 12. Bail was allowed—accused in £50 and two sureties of £50 each or one of .£IOO.
