Five games have now been played in the chess congress, with the folloiring results :— Davis won 4J games, Cleland 4, Miles 4, Forayth 4, Barnes 3J, Gifford 3J, X, Mason 3, W. E. Mason 2, Pleasants 2. Hamel li, J, Mason 1, Adair £, Edwards I, Kelling 0. Oamaru, Dec. 30*

The Chess Tournament was continued today. Only one game in the sixth round is finished, W. E. Mason beuting Hamel. The former has now won three games.
