The annual cricket match North v,3outh Canterbury coramanced at Timaru yesterday. The local team made a small score in tho first innings, and it seems likely that the game will be a one innings victory for the northern team. H, C. Eidiey is unable to accompany the Canterbury team to Otago, and his place will be filled by T. W, Reese.
