Doomed Unless a Third Squadron
is Despatched.
Received Dec. 30, 8.43 a.m. London, Deo. 29 lleuter's Tokio correspondent states that the Japanese occupied the whole of the Erlungehan Forts yesterday. An ofKoial message states that the left centre at 10 o'clock on Wednesday morning blew up a parapet in front of tho Erlungshan fort, carrying the outworks by assault and constructing defensive works under cover of the heavy guns. Later they assaulted and captured the interior fort, and eventually after a stout resistance captured the whole fort by nightfall. St. Petersburg, Dec. 29 The Russian Service journals strongly recommend the rect.ll < f the Baltic Fleet unless it is able to await the arrival of a third fleet. Captain Clado declares that Eozjestvenski is doomed unless a third squadron is despatched immediately.
