The Remnant of Metre Hill Garrison.

A further list has been published of 18 Japanese officers killed and 86 wounded, presumably at Port Arthur. A crusade made against rats in 1902 enabled the Japanese to distribute amongst the troops in Manchuria a hundred thousand small fur ear protectors.
Itzushan fort contains the remnant of the Metre Kill garrison, consisting of the artillerymen with fifteen guns. Four stockades are in front, and two in the rear. The Japaue36 fire destroyed five guns and disabled a thousand men.
China is exercising ■ renewed vigilance in order to prevent the " Aakold " and «' Grosovoi" from attempting to escape.
