Boxing- Association. —A meeting of the Ashbarton Branch of the New Zealand Boxing Association was held in the office of the Secretary, (Mr E. Pickles), on Friday evening last. A Sub-Committea was appointed to draw up a programme for a meeting to be held at some future date. The dates and particulars of programme will be available later on. High School Girls' Picnic.—-The girls of the High School held their annual picnic on Saturday. Leaving Ashburton early the party, in two large drags in charge of Messrs Newman and Claridge, journeyed to the N. Ashburton Gorge, and through tha | courtesy of Mr Mac Far lane the whole party spent a most enjoyable day in the bush. Shortly after 8 p.m. the picnicers reached home, but before dispersing gave three cheers for their teachers and Messrs Clar- , idge and Newman.
