De Lauessan, formerly Governor of \ Indo-China, writing to the " LaSiecle," protests against the attempt to drag France into a useless war, and declares that France in the Fasboda crisis, was no more able to wage a maritime war in Europe than a colonial war in the Far East, He laughs at the idea of Eussia'3 ability to march upon India, and asks who is revealing the Fashoda negotiations to instigate the French to support Russia. The German press scoffs at Russia's complaints against Japan's breaches of international law, and says that Japan's action in Korea is equally justifiable. Russia used false signal lights in the Turkish war.
