Pelletan, speaking in the Chamber of Deputies, stated that although he was unable to foresee tho possibility of conflict, the condition of the navy was excellent* Four destroyers had been despatched to reinforce the fleet in the Far East. London. Feb. 28 The German steamer Pronto has arrived at Chofoo with fifteen holes in her, after undergoing 25 minutes' fire from a Russian cruiser at Port Arthur.
The Russians are concentrating at Possiet Bay. Twelve hundred men are now south of Anju.
The Russian destroyers overhauled the British steamer Luriston in the Red Sett, and informed the captain that Russia had captured three British colliers proceeding to Japan. > ' :
