Upper Askburton Road Board.
The usual monthly meeting of this Board w»3 held in the Board's office yesterday. ; Present—Messrs C. J. Harper (chairuaan), I and all the members. CORRESPONDENCE. Correspondence was dealt with as under: From Mr Thos. Harrison, bringing under the Hoard's notice the bad state of the road between R.S. 16540 and 10981, and asking that something be done to improve it; also reminding the Board that it had promised to repair a portion of the North Hinds Koad from lies. 2L25 towards the upper boundary. Resolved that the work be attended to after harvest. MEDIC A. r, ATTENDANTS* NOTICES. Dr. Hunter notified the Board of two cases of scarlet fever, and Dr. Bolger one of diphtheria, existing in the district (Alleuton Subdivision). ROM. ALTERATIONS. The Clerk was instructed to submit the following to the Supervising Taluer, subject to all rates being paid to date :—Mr R. Houston to Mr John O'Grady, No. 563, R.S. 29929-31, 348 acres. GREEN'S CROBBING. The member for the Porks Ward reported that he had, as requested at last meeting, inspected Green's Crossing, at Greenstreet, and found that Mr Watson had put in some good protective works. The crossing can now be made on.the direct line of road, and Mr Watson will att3nd to this work in a few days. ACCOUNTS. Accounts amounting to £66 17s' 7d were passed for payment, and the Board adjourned.
