TROTTING RECORDS.
At the second day of the N.Z. Metropolitan Trotting Club's Autumn Meeting, held at Christchurch on Saturday, the feature of '■ the day's racing was the two performances ! put up by Mr D. J. Price's fine colt Ribbonwood. ' In the big Harness e^ent, I the N.Z. Handicap, of 150 soys, two miles, I he won m most convincing style, and established a fresh Australasian record for two ; miles of 4min 35 4-sth sees. Later m the afternoon Ribbonwood reduced Fritz's Australasian mile record from 2min 13secs to 2min 11 2-sth sees. The colt and his' driver (D. Price) came m for a great ovation. Mr E. Thomas's Boldrowood, TOsecs, '; finished second to Ribbonwod m the N.Z. j Handicap, and won the Final Handicap (m ' harness), of 70 soys, one mile, from All Day (Ssecs), with 4secs hndcp; time—2min 22 3-sth sees ; div— £s 12s. Mr J G McConnchie's eh g Sydney, 13see, : won the Autumn Handicap (saddle), of 80 soys, two miles; time—uiuiu 0 2.5 th sees: div—^2 Mb.
