The District Health Officer—Dr Finch, the District Health Officer, was m Ashburton to-day. He inspected the buildings on the late site of the Old Men's Home, m reference to the question of sanitation. He al3o visited the Ashburton Hospital. The Mayor and Crs. Jones and Willis, with the Town Clerk and Borough Inspector, accompanied Dr. Finch to the Home Buildings, nnd Dr. Trevor showed him over the Hospital. Supreme Court.—At the Chamber sitting of the Supreme Court, held m Christchurch on Saturday, by the Chief Justice, upon the application of Mr Purnell,_ for the Executors, an order was made giving directions to the executors of the will of the late James H. M'Keage, of the Hinds, with respect to the application of certain moneys m their hands.
