General Manager, T. G. Metcalf, of the Denver and Rio Grande, replied— I beg to quote from the geaeral ralei and regulations of the operating department of this road— The use of intoxicating drink by employees will be considered good cause for dismissal.
Furthermore, I beg to say that we we in the habit of giving preference to total abstainers in giring employment to new men.
