Messrs Friedlander Bros., Limited, report upon the live stock market for the week ending March as follows:—The ueu.*i weekly sale was held at the Ashburton yards on Tuesday laat, when the attendance ut farmers and others w<«B large, but business was rathSr dull. Butchers' sheep weie very dull, and a good portion of the entry was turned out unsold ; ewes were hard to quit even at a reduced rate as o.mpared with the ptic=e ruling lately, and sellers had to be content with the reduction or no sale. The entry for the day consisted of 8078 sheep and 42 cattle, of which ours was made up of 2580 sheep and Is_cai tie, including * me of 614 sheep in codj notion with Mr i> Thomas, and the foi owlns; were the sales made—2s fat merino ewes 7s 9d, 27 lambs 8s lOd, 30 fab crossbred ewes io* 7d, 126 fat crossbred ewes 9s lOd, 111 fat lambs 12a, 180 fat lambs 12s Bi, 51 fat wethers 15s Id, 'MS crossbred lambs Us 3d, 400 crossbred wethers 13j 7d, 24 fab merino ewes 8s 6d, 124 fat lambs Us 6d, 400 crossbred wethers 13a 7d, 24 fab merino ewes 8a 6d, 124 fat lambs 11s 6d, 19 fvt ewes 7s, 113 fat lambs 12a 9J. During the week we sold privately 114 fat lambs 11s, 700 ewes 14s 6d.
