ASHBURTON STOCK MARKET.

At the Ashburton Yards to-day, there was a decided improvement m the tone of the market. The attendance was fair and buyers numerous. The yarding was again small. Fat cattle sold up to £6 ss. For steers and heifers, 17s to 18a was the range per 1001 b. Good beef was scarce. A fair entry of fat sheep came forward, and twotooth ewes and wethers sold up to 12s 8d ; orossbred wethers 15s 2d ; merino ewes 4s ; crossbred ewes 7a; half bred ewes 6s; lambs 5s 2d, m store sheep; lambs 5s 7d. Forward crossbred ewes and wethers 10a 2d ; two-tooth and crossbred wethors 5b 5d ; merino ewes 2a 2d ; merino wethers 4s 3d.
