RANGITATA ROAD DISTRICT.

The annual meeting of ratepayers was held on Thursday, May 7, at the Road Board office, Lismore, Mr Harper (chairman) and six ratepayers being present* The Chairman read the balance sheet for the year ending March 31, 1896, which showed the receipts from all sources to have been £970 3s 7d, and expenditure £549 Is 4d, which left the Board with a credit balance of £210 to commence the current year. The Chairman moved that the balance sheet be adopted, so far as the meeting could do bo before the audit ; seconded by Mr S*wle and carried. The Chairman intimated that he would answer any questions relating to the actions of the Board. A few unimportant questions were put by the ratepayers, and replied to by the Chairman, and the meeting terminated.
