Parliamentary Notes.
(from our own correspondent,)
Wellington, September 18.
RAILWAYS BILL.
Should Mr Seddon persist in his determination lo force the Railways Bill through, he must be prepared for considerable modifications of the measure in Committee in the direction of limiting the powers proposed to be conferred on the Minister appointed under the Bill. Should it pass all stages of the House, it is certain to get the happy despatch in the Council, so that it will be a waste of time to press the Bill on.
LICENSING BILL.
The Council will this afternoon pass the third reading of the Licensing Bill, and it is said Government will accept the amendments upon it.
