Ashburton Hounds.

On Wednesday last there was a fair attendance at the meet at Mr William OVxrady's, Winchmore. The throw off took pace m one of Mr O'Grady's paddocks near the homestead, and a strong hare was soon afoot. An almost straight rnn for about four miles resulted, which brought the field ''own towards Mr D. Brick's place, where other hares rose, and crossed the scent, giving pusa another lease of life. This run took the field over some grand hunting country, and supplied excellent sport. A fey other runs were obtained but of shorter duration, the whole supplying' a grqnd day's outing. On Saturday the meet was, at Mr H. W. Parspns'f^rra, Chertseyj where Mr Parsons' proverbH hospitality was very welcome to a field that was perhaps the most limited of the season, and out m weather not at all agreeable for hunting. Besides, many of the most enthusiastic riders of the Club were saving themselves and their horses for the grand meet of the South Canterbury Ha£iierj3"at .Q/ari yesterday. Still a fair day's sport was enjoyed!.' Rgspo^ding to the Southern Club's invitation nine members of the Ashburfcon Hunt Club trucked on the express yesterday and went to the meet of the Harriers.
