V » Mr Purnell addressed the electors of Aehburton at Methven last night. Although the night was exceedingly dark and unfavorable, there was a very good attendance, between 50 and 60 electors putting man appearance. Mr Purnßll'a criticisms of Sir Julius Yogel'a Ashbaaton speech and policy generaily were attentively listened to and at the close of his remarks, a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the candidate on the motion of Mr Neil Duff, seconded by Mr. A Orr. The usual compliment to the Chairman (Mr G H. Alington) terminated the proceedings.
