LIQUOR ADVTS.

Mr. Chas. B. Harvey, of San Diego. wTote recently to the “News-Week" expressing his opposition to liquor advertising in that publication. In reply he received the following letter: Dear Mr. Harvey. We have received your letter of recent date in regard to liquor advertising. Since it is our policy to be impartial on all controversial subjects, we feel that it would be inconsistent to discriminate against this type of advertising. We understand your point of view, however. A number of subscribers share it—particularly teachers who use “News-Week” in their classes. To accommodate them, we print a certain number of copies from which liquor advertising is deleted. We have taken the liberty of transferring your name to this, our dry list, and we trust that you will continue as one of our regular readers.
