A wry enjoyable social was held immediately after the meeting, and the whole evening was voted a success by all those present. WANLANII. —Aug. 8. Eighteen present. Mrs Goody gave a very enltglltenmg talk, dealing with the parable of the must rd seed. Mr tlood's paper on ’ The Fermentation of Wine,” proved wry interesting. The main item was a debate, “That Country Life affords greater opportunity for intellectual development than Town Life,” and this was greatly enjoyud by all. Supper and a humor ous recitation brought tho evening to a close.

Supper was served. BLENHEIM.—Sept. 6. Mr Frank Smith presided over a fair attendance. Uev. Fordyee gave a splendid paper on “Gambling.” Two new members were initiated. Klllll 'I AKA'I A. —Aug. 15. A grand Social, over forty present; Superintendent presided. A good programme, games. The Rev. Mowbray Finnis gave an inspiring address. Supper. Aug. 29. A very good attendance; President. Mias Betty Clarke, presided. Every member gave a Temperance item or fact. Superintendent gave a short address. KAKAIA.—Aug. 21. President, Miss P. Hop wood, presided over an attendance of ladies and young people. An address on tlie “League of Nations” was given by Mrs Grant. Supper provided by the ladies. WAX.AM I EAST.—Aug. 14. Thirteen present. A chapter from Mias Margaret Baker's hook. “The Road to Health.” was lead and enjoyed. A “Model meeting” was helil in preparation for the Concert, which was held on August 16th. The Conceit was successful, and realized about £5. Fivj new members were initiated.
