Nelson
The ladies and gentlemen (says the Nelson ' Colonist ') who assisted at the recent bazaar held in aid of the re-building fund of St. Mary's Town Orphanage, were entertained at a social in St. Mary's Hall, when there was a large attendance. Many of the young ladies appeared in their fancy costumes worn at the bazaar, and these added variety and brightness to the scene.. Before the proceedings commenced, Rev. Father Clancy, on behalf of the Rev. Mother and Sisters, thanked all those who had assisted at the ba7aar, the object of which had been to provide funds for increased accommodation at the convent, and said their efforts had been most successful. At a later stage in the evening the balance sheet of the bazaar was road by Mr. Ben Crisp, the honorary secretary, which showed that the total receipts had amounted to £(555 19s lOd, and the expenditure to £300 10s 7d, leaving a credit balance of £355
9s 3d. Duiiiig tlie evening vocal items were contributed by Misses Rrtby St/allard Mid Armstrong and Mr Housieaux. Father McDonald also contributed a \iolin solo which was mucli appreciated. '
