Kaitaia. ultimo, from the Northland Hall, the property of FRED DEEN, draper, Dargaville, a Westclox Pocket Ben watch ; a ladies’ handbag ; two manicure-sets ; a white rake comb ; eight studs, each set with a blue or green stone ; a white-silk blouse with fancy work on it; a white and winecoloured blouse; two pairs of grey bloomers ; a navy-blue braided costume; a boys’ pepper-and-salt-coloured-tweed suit; a dark-brown raincoat, “ The Griffon ”on it; a gentlemen’s pepper-and-salt sports coat, size 4 ; a white-and-hlue-striped shirt, size 3 ; two gentlemen’s blue-and-white handkerchiefs ; three dozen ladies’ handkerchiefs of various colours ; two pairs of socks ; two boys’ woollen suits ; and a gentlemen’s dark-grey woollen sweater: total value, £ls. Grey Lynn.— On the 29th ultimo the dwelling of WILLIAM JAMES SMYTH at 112 Crummer Road was broken into, and the following property stolen therefrom: An 18 ct. gold double fetter and three or four ovals double watch-chain, with a gold-mounted-tusk pendant with “ Presented to W. J. Smyth by his friends and fellow-employees, Te Awamutu, 1898,” on mounting ; total value, £lO. Identifiable.

Auckland. —Between the 18th January and the 17th March last, from a case on the s.s. “ Westmeath,” between England and Auckland, the property of the NEW ZEALAND SHIPPING COMPANY (LIMITED), Auckland, thirty-six silk georgette beaded gowns of various colours, and 34 £ dozen pairs of ladies’ grey and putty-coloured artificial silk stockings with woollen tops and soles ; total value, £250. Auckland. —22nd ultimo, from the Royal Hotel, the property of ARTHUR HARRY VERNON, a gentlemen’s grey-tweed overcoat (recovered); and a blue-grey-felt hat, with “ A.V.” written on inside band : total value, £3. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to George Wilkins (name probably fictitious), age about thirty-eight, height about 5 ft. 6 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, clean-shaved ; dressed in a blue suit and grey cap. He sold the articles at Kissin’s pawnshop, where the overcoat was recovered.

Auckland. — On or about the 30th ultimo, from a bedroom at Warkworth House in Queen Street, £5, the property of ALFRED LOUIS GHEZZI, carpenter, also an attache-case, containing a letter of credit for £IOO and a £2O war bond (recovered), and eleven £1 notes, the property of GEORGE ROYAL ALLEN. Suspicion is attached to Olesen (name probably fictitious), age thirty-five, height 5 ft. 11 in., labourer, stout build, fresh complexion, dark hair, clean-shaved; dressed in a gabardine overcoat and grey-felt hat.
