Napier — Herbert Bear is charged on warrant with failing to provide for the maintenance of his illegitimate child. Description: A native of New Zealand, gasfitter, twenty-eight years of age, sft. 6 in. high, medium build, dark complexion, dark hair, brown eyes, Roman nose, cleanshaved, regular features; dressed in dark-brown tweed suit and hard black or soft wide-brimmed grey-felt hat. May endeavour to leave the colony. Photograph filed in the Inspector’s office, Napier.
Featherston. — William Harris is charged on warrant with disobeying an order of Court to pay £1 a week for the support of his wife and children. Description : A native of New Zealand, thirty-two years of age, about 5 ft. 3 in. high, fair hair and complexion, eleau-shaved, blue eyes, about 10 st. 71b. weight, dirty appearance ; generally works amongst horses. Supposed to be now in the King-country with a survey party. Is in arrears, up to the 24th ultimo, the sum of £l3.

Wellington.— George Phillips, alias Nichol, charged with disobeying an order of Court for the support of his illegitimate child, has been arrested by Constable W. J. Simpson, Eltham police.

Mount Cook (Wellington). —Edward Brenfield, charged with wife-desertion, has been arrested by Constable G. Learmonth, Masterton police, on information supplied by ActingDetective S. Rawle.

Christchurch. — Henry George Carlyle, charged with disobeying an order of Court for the maintenance of his wife, has been arrested by Constable W. Worsley, Christchurch police.

Christchurch. — John Henrv Hooper, charged with dis obeying an order of Court for the support of his illegitimate child, has been arrested by Detectives T. Boddam and J. J. Cassells, Wellington police.

Christchurch. James Moraghan, charged with wifedesertion, has been arrested by Constable H. A. Bolstad, Christchurch police.

Sydney. Percy Cole, alias S. Osborne, is charged on warrant issued by the Glebe police, Sydney, with deserting his wife. Description : A tin-solderer, twenty-eight years of age, 5 ft. 1 in. high, stout build, fair hair and complexion, fair moustache only (may be clean-shaved), has a scar of abscess on one ankle (see Netv South Wales Police Gazette, 1903, page 213). He was last heard of in New Zealand, and was then employed at the Islington Freezingworks, Christchurch, but left in June last to seek employment in the North Island. He was going under the name of S. Osborne. He is not to be arrested, but induced to remit a weekly allowance to his wife and child. Photograph in Commissioner’s office. (03/1632.)
