Absconding from Industrial School.
Peter Chapman absconded from the service of W. Harris, Meanee, on the 3rd July last. Description : A native of New Zealand, farm-labourer, eighteen years of age, 5 ft. in high, medium build, fresh complexion, fair hair, large blue eyes, quiet manner; dressed in a brown suit. Was com mitted to Burnham from Wellington in May, 1901. If found in suitable employment he is not to be apprehended, but a report forwarded to the Inspector of Police, Napier.
Walter Cooper absconded from licensed service at Kaupokonui, near Hawera, on the 18th May last. Description : Eighteen years of age, about sft. Gin. high, fresh ruddy complexion, dark eyes and hair, small eyes. Supposed to have gone to the West Coast, South Island. (See Police Gazette, 1901, page 64.)
David Roach absconded from Burnham Industrial School on the sth April last. Description; Eighteen years of age, 5 ft. 6in. high, dark complexion and eyes, dark hair, medium build, sullen, morose disposition ; a dangerous character. He was committed from Auckland in August, 1898, for theft from a till.
