Description: Supposed colonial, sawmillhand, about twenty-five or thirty years of age, about sft 7 in. or 8 in. high, medium build, fair hair, fresh complexion, fair moustache ; dressed when last seen in a light-grey suit and brown Dr. Jim hat. Was last seen at Huntly on the 29th ultimo.

Annie Armitage is inquired for by the Petone police at the instance of her parents. Description: A native of New Zealand, accountant, eighteen years of age, 5 ft. high, thin features, pale face, brown sandy hair; dressed in black skirt, fawn three-quarter jacket, blue blouse; had with her a creammuslin blouse with flowers, a grey skirt, and a white-straw hat trimmed with lace and ivy flowers. May be in a maternity home in South Island—probably Dunedin.

Joseph Ryan is inquired for by the Pahiatua police with a view to compel him to support his son, an inmate of the Caversham Industrial School. Description : A native of New Zealand, horse-driver and labourer, thirty-nine years of age, 5 ft. 7 in. high, medium build, smart active appearance, very dark complexion, dark hair, thin features, sharp nose, talks slightly through it; dressed in dark clothes, brown soft hat; is fond of drink, and is continually smoking a pipe. Was at the Lower Hutt in December last.

Eliza Johnston is inquired for by the Wellington police at the instance of Mrs. McDonald, Lower Hutt, that she may be compelled to support her child, which she left in Mrs. McDonald’s care in 1900. Description : A native of New Zealand, general servant, about thirty years of age, medium height, inclined to be stout, dark complexion and hair. Is usually employed in hotels or boardinghouses, and is supposed to belong to Dunedin, and separated from her husband.

Yewdall. whereabouts of William Henry Yewdall. Description : A native of Bradford, England, solicitor, about fifty years of age, medium height, near-sighted, wears spectacles, small sharp features, white hair, generally clean-shaved except moustache, which is large and pointed. Had a box containing a gramophone with ear-tubes. He arrived from England on the 27th December, 1901, and was locked up at Wellington on the same day for being drunk. Inquired for by S. Yewdall, 344, The Cliff, Higher Broughton, Manchester. (02/1898.)

L. Adams, alias De Flanaran, is inquired for by James Smith and Sons, Brisbane. He is said to be a remittanceman, and does little work. He hired a bicycle from the above firm, and failed to return it. Report to be forwarded to the Commissioner’s office if any information obtained. (02/2278.)
