Deserting Wives and Families, &c.
(See Police Gazette, 1899, page 251.) New Plymouth. —Leonard Alfred Taylor, charged with disobeying an order of Court for the maintenance of his illegitimate child, has been arrested by Constable Simpson, Eltham police, and taken to New Plymouth.
Cheistchuech.— Malcolm McKinlay is charged on warrant of commitment to Lyttelton Gaol for two months for disobeying an order of Court to pay £1 per week towards the support of his wife and family. Description : Scotch, a shearer and labourer, thirty-nine years of age, 5 ft. 9 in. high, medium build, round shoulders, fresh complexion, fair hair, fair moustache only, walks with a rolling gait; dressed in a coarse tweed suit, and soft black-felt hat with broad brim. Supposed to have gone towards Springfield, Sheffield, or Annat. The sum of £59 Is. was due and unpaid on the 17th October last.
(See Police Gazette , 1899, page 125.) Christchurch. —Robert Goodsman Telfer, charged with disobeying an order of Court, has been arrested by Detective T. Livingstone, and committed to gaol for three months.
