y (See Police Gazette , 1897, page 4.) Napier. —Edward McSherry, charged with failing to provide for the maintenance of his illegitimate child by Margaret Elizabeth Hudson, has been arrested by Constable T. Cullinane, Auckland police, and remanded to Napier.

Dannevirke. —John Conrad is charged on warrant with fx failing to provide for the support of his illegitimate child by f? Clara Olding. Description : A colonial, twenty-three years ' of age, oft. 6in. or 7in. high, stout build, fresh complexion, | dark hair, small dark moustache only, slightly bow-legged ; O' dressed when last seen in a dark tweed sac-suit and hard black-felt hat. He is supposed to be in Herbertville subdistrict.

Palmerston North. —Arthur De Luen is charged on warrant, issued on the 3rd November, 1896, with failing to provide for his illegitimate child by Alexandria Pinkerton. Description : A tailor by trade, about twenty-eight years of age, about sft. high, medium build, dark complexion, jet-black hair (very wavy), heavy dark moustache only; dressed in a dark coat and vest, and light-tweed trousers. He is supposed to have gone to Sydney.

Wellington.— -Archibald White, charged with failing to provide for the future maintenance of his unborn illegitimate child by Louisa Jane Parrant. The child having

f/ since been born, a fresh warrant, charging offender “ with ‘ failing to support his illegitimate child ” has been issued. He is said to be known as Archie McNaught, or Archie Ball, and may be in the Dannevirke district.

Wellington. — William Stewart is charged on warrant with disobeying an order of Court, made on the 26th July, 1896, to pay Bs. a week towards the support of his illegitimate child by Martha Hunter. Description : Colonial, a contractor and labourer, about thirty-five years of age,

A reward of £3 is offered for the arrest of each, in addition to £5 from the colonial Government.

From H.M.S. “ Rapid," at Hobart. On the 2nd January, 1897. George Savage, ordinary seaman, a native of Derby, England, twenty years of age, sft. 7in. high, dark hair, hazel eyes, dark complexion. A reward of £3 is offered for his arrest.

From H.M.S. “ Ringarooma,” at Hobart. On the 6th January, 1897. E. F. Errington, A. 8., English, twenty years of age, sft. Bin. high, brown hair, blue eyes, fresh complexion, E.E. in blue ink on left arm, anchor on right arm. A reward of £3 is offered for his apprehension.
