Auckland. —Thomas George Ekley, tobacconist, Mount Eden Road, reports stolen from the Domain on the 10th o ji 11th ultimo, a brown mare, three years old, 14 hands high, white star on forehead, off hind leg white, in rather pooB 1 condition ; value, £lO.

y' (See Police Gazette, 1896, page 135.) Whakatane.- Sydney Crapp’s gelding has been recovered.
Napier.— Stolen from a yard at Waghorn Street, Spit, o pi the 18th ultimo, a dark-bay gelding, the property of Fredrick Lansdown, since recovered; a light hunting-saddle, st> pigskin seat, new stirrup-leathers, web-girth, split, the property of W. Essex; and a pair of new trap- / blinkers with white forehead band fastened by round silver plates, nickel bit, and half driving-reins, with silver buckle/ attached : total value £24. Suspicion attached to a man, name unknown, stout build, dressed in dark clothes, and, 1 i black slouched hat. Can be identified. The gelding was found at Papakura on the day of the theft, coming from the direction of Hastings.
Marton. —Francis Arkwright, farmer, reports stolen from a paddock, about the 22nd ultimo, eighty shorn ewes, branded A.A. in tar on rump, and about seventy lambs in wool. Ear-marks front and back bit out of left ear, and tip off right ear for ewes ; reversed for wethers ; value, £45.
Marton. —Rangihoapu Henare, Rata, reports stolen from a paddock, on the Ist or 2nd ultimo, a chestnut mare, hack breed, aged, 14 hands high, black mane and tail, branded Ron near shoulder, black hairs about the feet; value, £B.
