Palmerston North. —Frank Hubble is charged on warrant with deserting his illegitimate child by Agnes Moles since the 16th ultimo. Description: Supposed English, about thirty years of age, about sft. 7Jin. high, stout build, dark complexion, clean shaved except moustache ; has been a sailor, and until recently was employed in the telephoneoffice at Palmerston North. He is known in Wellington, and may visit Dunedin, where his mother resides.

Paeroa. —William Dixon is charged on warrant with failing to provide for the maintenance of his illegitimate child by Hannah Pennell. Description : Colonial, a jockey, about twenty-three years of age, about sft. 6in. high, slight build, fresh complexion, brown hair and moustache only, grey or light-blue eyes, smart appearance; usually wears a dark suit and black hard-felt hat. Was seen in Auckland on the 23rd instant. His brother works for the Hon. J. D. Ormond, at Hastings.

Napier. —Andrew Cavanagh is charged on warrant with disobeying an order of the Court to pay ss. per week for the support of his mother. Description: A native of Napier, a baker, twenty-nine years of age, sft. Bin. high, dark hair, brown eyes, broad shoulders, good appearance, clean shaved except moustache, fond of smiling and showing his teeth ; wore a dark-tweed suit. Last heard of at Bulls. He was £3 ss. in arrears on the sth ultimo.

Rakaia. —Joseph Brimmicombe is charged on warrant with failing to provide for the future maintenance of his unborn illegitimate child by Emma Murray. Description: A native of New Zealand, twenty-five years of age, sft. 10in. high, strong build, fair complexion and hair, small fair moustache, otherwise clean shaved, scar above and below left eye, one front upper tooth broken, left arm crooked ; dressed in grey-tweed coat and vest, navy-blue trousers and light-coloured soft-felt hat. Has relatives in Christchurch, Wellington, and Pahiatua.

Temuka. —Thomas Radford is charged on warrant with neglecting to contribute towards the support of his illegitimate child by Alice Tawdry. Description : A native of New Zealand, twenty-three years of age, sft. Bin. or 9in. high, slight build, thin features, black hair, shaved except small black moustache, slightly bow-legged; generally wears a black suit, and hard black-felt hat; is likely to be working among horses. He was at Feilding in February last.

Waikaia. William Braithwaite is charged on warrant with disobeying an order of the Court to pay 3s. 6d. per week towards the support of his illegitimate child by Mary Ann Rowley. Description : A native of New Zealand, a labourer, twenty-two years of age, about sft. 9in. high, medium build, pale sallow complexion, very small fair moustache only, fair hair, left eye blue, has lost the right eye; wore a dark-brown tweed suit and soft drab hat; slovenly appearance, and inclined to be round-shouldered. His mother lives on a small farm between Port Chalmers and Waitati. The sum of £l6 Is. 6d. was in arrears on the 4th September last.

Christchurch. —William Burgess is charged on warrant of commitment for two months’ imprisonment for disobeying an order of Court to pay the sum of £8 ss. towards the maintenance of his illegitimate child. Description: Twentyeight years of age, sft. Bin. high, stout build, sallow complexion, fair hair, small dark side-whiskers and moustache, walks as if one leg was shorter than the other; dressed in a dark suit. Christchurch. —Herbert Thomas is charged on warrant with disobeying an order of Court to pay 7s. 6d. a week towards the support of his illegitimate child by Janet Smith. Bin. high, slight build, black hair, small moustache only, good looking, smart appearance; dressed in a blue jacket and vest, grey trousers, and hard hat. The sum of £3 15s. was in arrears on the 25th July last.

Christchurch. —Alexander White is charged on warrant with failing to support his illegitimate child by Mary Agnes Kennedy. Description : English, a seaman and shipmaster, well known in most New Zealand ports as “ Captain ” White, and formerly owner of the barque “ Gannymede,” about fifty-five years of age, about sft. 4tn. high, strong stout build, fair florid complexion, full round features, brown hair beard whiskers and moustache turning grey, slightly bald. He left Christchurch for Wellington in January last. Has a wife and family at Timaru.
