Deserting Wives and Families, &c.
Napier. —William Clements is charged on warrant with deserting his wife and child since the Ist January, 1895. Description : A native of the colony, a labourer, thirty-four years of age, sft. high, fresh complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, small nose, clean-sliaved except fair moustache, anchor tatooed on left arm, scar on right arm; addicted to drink; usually wears brown-moleskin trousers, and soft
brown-felt hat with a rather narrow brim. (See also Police Gazette, 1894, page 115.) He was seen going towards Taradale on the 4th ultimo.

Masterton. —Morgan O’Meara, charged with disobeying an order of Court for the support of his wife and children. This offender is said to have been seen in Wellington about the 12th ultimo. He was then clean-shaved except moustache, which has greatly altered his appearance. His sister, Mrs. Barnard, resides at Newtown, Wellington.
Wellington.— Charles Paseoe is charged on warrant with having deserted his wife and child since the 28th ultimo. Description : A native of Germany, a labourer, thirty-three years of age, sft. Gin. high, stiff build, fresh complexion, fair hair, grey eyes, heavy fair moustache, speaks good English. He is supposed to have left for Sy’dney on the 23rd ultimo by s.s. “ Manapouri,” and is known to Inspector Atwell and Sergeant Baxter, of the Sydney police. Complainant, Bose Paseoe, care of Mrs. Evans, Lome Street, Wellington.
Christchurch. —Thomas Miln is charged on warrant with deserting his three children. Description : A native of New Zealand, a labourer, thirty-three years of age, sft. lOin. high, stout build, ruddy complexion, dark hair beard whiskers and moustache, blue eyes ; fond of drink and gambling. He left for the North Island about eight months ago. Complainant, John Miln, Hals well.

Christchurch. —Charles Griffin, charged with wife-deser-tion has been arrested by Constable J. M. Hobson, and discharged.
Outram. —Donald Hunter is charged on warrant with disobeying an order of the Magistrate’s Court, Dunedin, to pay 2s. per week towards the maintenance of his father. Description: A native of the colony, a labourer, about twentythree years of age, sft. sin. high, medium build, pale complexion, blue eyes, regular features, fair hair, small fair moustache and side whiskers ; usually wears a light-coloured suit, and brown billy-cock hat. Said to be harvesting in the Oarnaru district.
