Auckland. George Edward French, carter, Oliphant Street, reports stolen from his shed, on the 18th or 19th ultimo, a black-leather saddle and breeching (spring-cart harness), brass mounted, nearly new, 2in. back-band, bellyband marked “ Hill, Saddler ” ; value, £5.

Auckland. —Adam Henderson, shipwright, Customs Street West, reports that between the 16th and 18th ultimo his office was broken into, and a pair of light-tweed trousers, slightly worn, a rule-pocket at side, and a pair of canvas shoes, stolen. Value, 15s.

Auckland. —Rowland Leate Holle, Grafton Road, reports stolen from on the 2nd ultimo, a black field-spaniel dog, tail docked, two years and a half old, answers to “ Nigger ” ; value, £lO.

Oneiiunga. —William John Connolly, Mount Eden Road, near Auckland, reports stolen from his stable, on the 17th or 18th ultimo, a set of buggy harness, much worn, silver-plated hames, winkers had a large bit with two rings on each side, one of the breeching-straps bad a piece broken off, and the end of one trace has been repaired, value £5; a set of spring-cart harness, minus hames and traces, not much worn, one of the breeching-straps has a piece broken off, value £3; a saddle, nearly new, with bridle, white-metal stirrup-irons, and one cotton girth with red stripe ; value £2. Also stolen, the property of Atkinson Tiplady, a muchworn saddle, branded with maker’s initials, “ J.YV.” stuffing protruding through right panel, one of the stirrup-leathers spliced, nickel-plated irons, and web girth ; value, £1 ss.

Otahuhu. —lsaac Gray, Papatoitoi, reports stolen from his stable, on the 11th or 12th ultimo, a set of spring-cart harness, brass-mounted, one black buckle on belly-band ; and a colonial-made riding-saddle with pigskin seat; all very much worn ; value, £4.

Dargaville. —Joseph Seymour, storekeeper, Te Kopuru, reports that on the 14th ultimo his premises were broken into, and the following stolen : An English silver lever openfaced watch, nearly new, point broken off the small hand, value £5; two watch-keys, 171 b. of Venus tobacco, nine pairs of blucher boots, thirteen pairs of pants, two suits of clothes, eight shirts, five pairs of stockings, twelve pairs of socks, two and a half yards of shirting, and sundry small articles : value, in all, about £2O.

Gisborne. —William Oswald Skeet, builder, reports stolen from a house in course of erection, near Patutahi, between the 23rd and 25th ultimo, five sheets of sft galvanised corrugated iron, Pyramid brand, two sheets of 6ft. ditto, Crown brand ; seventeen lengths of 4Jin. spouting, seventeen ditto, sin. ; three sheets of No. 10 zinc, four lengths of 24in. down-pipe, two lengths of 2in. ditto; and about forty brackets for 2£in. spouting ; value, £6.

Gisborne. —Charles Evans, Te Arai, reports stolen from a wool-shed, during the night of the 21st ultimo, two carthorse collars, small size, old ; two pairs of hames, two pairs of winkers, one pair having brass buckles, the brass mounting of the eye-flap on near side missing: and an old cartsaddle with breeching ; value, £5 15s. Maoris suspected.

Ormond (Poverty Bay). Edward Valentine Luttrell reports stolen from his shed, on the 15th or 16th ultimo, two 5-gallon drums of lung-worm specific ; value, £3 ss.

Palmerston North. —William Dempsey is charged on warrant with having, on the 30th November, 1894, stolen from the premises of William Mead a calico tent, value 10s., since recovered. Offender is a native of Christchurch, thirtysix years of age, sft. 6in. high, fresh complexion, medium build, dark-brown hair turning grey, grey eves, large nose, dark moustache only, may have marks on face, the results of a recent fight; wore a dark-tweed coat and vest, dirty light-tweed trousers, and soft black-felt hat. Pahautanui. —John Taylor, farmer, Tawa Elat, reports stolen from off a clothes-line on the 24th ultimo, a pair of light-tweed trousers, size 5, slit, about lin. long on left hip ; pair of new braces attached : value, £1 2s.

Upper Hutt. —Matilda Dick reports stolen from off a clothes-line, on the 15th ultimo, three Crimean shirts—two blue and white, one red and white ; a ladies’ night-dress and pair of drawers ; value, 18s.

Wellington. —Mrs. Mary Foster, 78, Budd Street, Collingwood, Melbourne, reports stolen from a box in transit by rail from Longburn to Wellington, on the 15th or 16th Januai’y last, a ladies’ gold open-faced Geneva watch, No. 9572, and a very small gold locket with shamrocks on back, place for initials on front, and a gentleman’s photograph inside. “lonic,” s.s. (Lyttelton). —Walter Benjamin Burbridge, steward, reports stolen from his bunk, on the 25th ultimo, a 9 carat gold signet ring, WB (conjoined) on top, slight dent on side ; value, £2.

Methven. —William Maginness, farmer, Springfield, reports stolen from off his pony, on the 29th January last, a bullock-hide saddle, light colonial make, nearly new, small flaps over knee-pads (turned up), pommel slightly rubbed, stirrup-irons very rusty, red-aud-white web girth ; value, £3.
