Auckland. —Henry Davis, Victoria Lane, reports stolen from the breastwork, Custom Street West, on the 20th or 21st instant, the yacht “ Nellie,” half-decker, clinker built, 19ft. 6in. long, painted white on top, and red on bottom outside, blue flag on each bow, mast and sails complete ; value, £25.
Port Albert (Auckland).— Bradley, Mander, and Co. report stolen, between the Ist August last and 15th instant, between twenty and thirty kauri logs, brands FM, MB, WB, EB, BHI, HV, and several with X cut in middle only; value, about £45.
(See Police Gazette, 1894, page 141.) Aratapu. —John Bascomb’s timber-jack has been found concealed in the bush. Timber-dogs and wire-rope still missing.
(See Police Gazette, 1894, page 119.) Otahuhu. —Robert Kelly’s saddle and bridle have been recovered and traced to the possession of Michael Charles Bourne, arrested and on remand for stealing J. M. Laing’s horses. (Vide Police Gazette, 1894, page 157, &c.)
Ohingaiti. Frederick Tyson reports stolen from liis coach, on the 13th or 14th instant, a parcel containing a new light-brown sac suit, size 5, made by De Luen Brothers, Hunterville ; value, £4 ss.
Wellington. —The Rev. William Baumber reports stolen from the vestry of the Wesley Church, Taranaki Street, tjjf during the evening of the 28th instant, a very dark-grey V' overcoat, “ Fletcher and Co., Christchurch,” on tab; and a black wideawake hat: value, £4 4s.
Wellington. —F. W. Lang, Esq., M.H.R., reports stolen from the lavatory at the House of Representatives, on the 15th instant, a dark-blue ribbed-tweed Inverness waterproof coat, green-plaid lining, an Auckland maker’s name on collar, strapped on all inside seams with strips of mackintosh, collar rather large, side-pockets with flaps, spare collar-strap fixed with two buttons on inside of breast, the upper of the two buttons of flap behind has been torn off; value, £4.
“Mahinapua” s.s., at Wellington. Arthur Daly, passenger, reports stolen from his cabin, on the 20th or 21st instant, a silver hunting-watch, supposed Geneva, number unknown, “ A.D., Nov., ’91,” scratched on outside shield, and “R. Krehagan ” on inside case; black-bead chain attached : value, £3. Complainant’s address is, care of Mrs. Rowell, Halifax Street, Nelson.
“Mahinapua” s.s., at Wellington. —Joseph P. Gilgour reports stolen from the cabin, on the 21st instant, a small patent-leather bag, with nickel-plated fittings, containing two shirts, a towel, and some mechanical books; value, £1 10s. Suspicion attached to a man, name unknown, about twenty-six years of age, about sft. lOin. high, stout build, clean-shaved except small moustache. Complainant’s address is, care of B. Garnham, Blenheim.
Nelson. Johanna Jackson, Wakefield Quay, reports stolen from off a clothes-line, on the 20th instant, five and a half pairs of hoys’ black-ribbed worsted stockings, marked LJ in red wool.
Blenheim. —C. Large, flour-miller, at Mrs. Redwood’s Spring Creek, reports stolen from the mill, on the 17th in stant, a silver Waltham hunting-watch, No. 1248386 value, £4.
Dunedin. —Thomas Harty, commission agent, reports stolen from an outhouse in Princes Street, between the 3rd and 10th instant, ten Venetian blinds (corrugated tin, painted brown) —viz., two 7ft. by 3ft. four 7ft. BJin. by Ift. 4fin., and four 7ft. B£in. by 2ft. lO^in.: value, £8 10s. Identifiable.
Dunedin. —John Winton, Ravenshourne, reports stolen from his boat, on the 22nd or 23rd instant, an ordinary fish-ing-net, 70 yards long, 100 meshes deep, each mesh 2Jin., made of Italian twine; value, £7 10s.
Winton. —John C. Shearer, storekeeper, Drummond, reports stolen from the railway-shed, Winton, between the 21st and 28th ultimo, three bags of potatoes, value £1 35.; bags marked 2 in black paint.
