Missing Friends.

John Stewart is inquired for by Leslie Stewart Gibson, 21, Wolseley Street, Glasgow. He married a daughter of a Mr. Rennay, at Fairlie Creek, and left for Wellington about four years ago. Is said to have had a contract for clearing six miles of bush for a railway, and intended taking up a Government allotment on a ten years’ purchase. Mr. Rennay was supposed to have been employed at the Napier or Wellington Hospital, but is not known at either place. If he can be found, he will probably know Stewart’s address. (94/435.)

John Fry, formerly of Adelaide Cottage, Stonehouse, Plymouth, left London many years ago to work at the Lyttelton Breakwater. Description : Forty-six years of age, sft. 4in. high, set growth, fair complexion. Is inquired for by Henry Fry, signalman, Great Western Railway, Marsh Mills, Devon. (94/560.)

Herbert Ciiarees Scudamore is inquired for by the Chief Commissioner, Victoria Police, on behalf of his father, W. R. Scudamore, 16, Burland Road, Clapham Common, London, S.W. He is about twenty-four years of age, fair complexion, about sft. lOin. high. Last heard from on 11th December, 1893, by letter from Waitotara, N.Z., but cannot be traced there now. (94/521.)

Edward Tonkin is inquired for by his nephew, James Tredrea, General Post Office, Adelaide, South Australia. Description: A native of Cornwall, England, a labourer and miner, about sft. 9in. high, stiff build, full dark beard whiskers and moustache. Has been a railway ganger or linesman. Is known to James Breen, who had a contract at Fitzherbert, near Palmerston North, and left there recently. (94/346.)

Michael Barry, who left Stratford on the 13th March last, is inquired for by the New Plymouth police. Description : Irish, a labourer, fifty years of age, sft. 6in. high, medium build, dark complexion, hair and heard turning grey, blue eyes; wore a serge suit and soft-felt hat; a widower. Is supposed to be living with a woman about sft. 4in. high, thirty years of age, slight build, sallow complexion, dark hair and eyes ; she has a boy about four years old. Barry expressed an intention of going to Auckland, where her parents are said to bo in the hotel business. Inquiry is for the purpose of compelling him to comply with an order of Court to pay 10s. a week for the maintenance of his children at St. Mary’s School, Nelson, the sum of £9 being now due.

Otto Mar Schieblich is inquired for by the Christchurch police. Description : A German, a watchmaker, forty-five years of age, sft. 3in. high, medium build, sallow complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes, usually shaves except moustache ; single ; latterly much addicted to drink. He disappeared from his shop in Victoria Street, Christchurch, about the 20th March last, leaving a small stock of watches, &c., on the premises. Has a brother in Melbourne.

Annie McMillan is inquired for through the Cullensville police. Description: Scotch, a domestic servant, nineteen years of age, sft. 4in. high, fair hair, grey eyes; wore a black-cashmere dress, black-lace hat, and light-coloured mackintosh. She left home on the 21st March last, in company with a young man named James Hancock, and they are supposed to have gone to Wellington vid Blenheim. Hancock has an uncle in the Permanent Artillery, Wellington, who may know something of their whereabouts.
