Horse- and Cattle-Stealing.
Walter Bocker is charged with the larceny as a bailee, on the 7th July last, at Waimoti, Auckland District, of a steel-grey gelding, supposed branded A A ; a saddle, branded HONE on outside of flap, and a bridle ; the property of Hone Ramaka; value £lO. Identifiable. Description: A German, a repairer of sewing-machines, about twenty-six years of age, about 5 feet 7 inches high, medium build, fair complexion, fair hair and beard; wore brown-tweed clothes, and carried a small box, which, it is supposed, contains tools. He hired the horse, saddle, and bridle on the 7th July last from Hone Ramaka, promising to return them in about a week, but he has not done so, and has not since been heard of. He represents himself as an agent connected with Mr. W. C. Dennes’s sewing-machine depot, Queen Street, Auckland. He went towards Wairoa. No warrant issued.
